Innocent Mthembu

Innocent N. Mthembu is an accomplished information systems professional and an aspiring academic researcher with over 8 years of experience in the field. He is a proud member of SAICSIT (South African Institute of Computer Scientists and Information Technologists) and AISSAC (Southern African Chapter of the Association for Information Systems), reflecting his active engagement in both local and international scholarly communities.

Innocent has presented research on ICT for Development (ICT4D) at esteemed international conferences, showcasing a commitment to leveraging digital innovation for social impact. He has served within Accounting and Auditing departments, gaining deep insight into their operational and governance cultures—an asset that informs his current focus on digital auditing and AI-driven compliance systems.

Currently, he is a UK–SA PhD Scholarship holder, jointly enrolled at the University of Johannesburg, in collaboration with the University of Glasgow and the University of Zululand. His doctoral research explores the integration of emerging technologies into public sector accountability frameworks, with a strong focus on ethical, sustainable digital transformation.
